Rampage Jackson claims that he hasn’t violated any rule, using steroids for therapeutic needs

The mixed martial artist and actor Quinton “Rampage” Jackson told about effects of testosterone in the interview with Gary Alexander of “Fighters Only Magazine”. He said about his decision to apply testosterone, about its effects on increase of muscle size, his bodyweight and his sexuality. He pronounced these words after his fail at UFC 144 in Japan.
The UFC champion was openly telling about his decision to find a health care provider that could recommend him testosterone replacement therapy. He noted openly because he believed that testosterone didn’t include in anabolic steroids. The UFC champion said that steroids were for muscles but testosterone was natural. So, he was mistaken, considering that testosterone isn’t an anabolic steroid.
In fact, use of testosterone replacement therapy in mixed martial arts is a debated issue. Testosterone is used legally in case of hypogonadism (reduced testosterone secretion). Thus, mixed martial artists that suffer from this disease may obtain a therapeutic use exemption which allows to take the steroid testosterone legally.
But the issue which is widely discussed is whether the fighter that administers therapeutic measure of testosterone may get unfair advantage during competitions.
The most of sportspeople that have got a therapeutic use exemption for application of testosterone for clinical needs deny receiving any enhancement of performance due to testosterone replacement therapy.
As for Jackson, he stated that testosterone replacement therapy had promoted enhancing his muscle size, helped to get faster recovery from his injuries and had positive effect on his sexual abilities. Jackson noted that he had had a knee injury. After he had used 3 dosages of testosterone, the knee was healed. He gained bodyweight and muscle mass. He noticed that small dosages of the steroid testosterone had produced essential changes in him. His sexual life was improved essentially; he began to feel as if he had been just 25.
Rampage Jackson demonized steroids for his impossibility to lose weight in order to meet criteria of the 206lb weight class.
Rampage Jackson states that he doesn’t break any law. He utilizes testosterone and thinks that it is legally.
He claims that he is glad that he uses testosterone.
