All sprinters in 100 meter final at the 2000 Sydney Olympics were suspected in application of anabolic steroids. Could you imagine it? Although numerous things were done to avoid intake of the banned preparations in sport, it is not free from these preparations.
BALCO founder Victor Conte reported in an interview about application of steroids by the sprinters in 100 meter final at the 2000 Olympics. Maurice Greene, Ato Boldon, Obadele Thompson, Darren Campbell, Dwain Chambers, Aziz Zakari, Jon Drummond and Kim Collins administrated anabolic steroids.
Victor Conte is sure that Dwain Chambers, the British sportsperson, administrated steroids. Conte sold these products to Chambers in 2003. As it was found out, Chambers utilized tetrahydrogestrinone.
Maurice Green, the American sportsperson, used steroids, testosterone cream, EPO and some stimulants. Angel Guillermo Heredia told that he had provided these medications to Maurice Green. But it is necessary to note that this American athlete started to get these medications from Heredia after he had received 2 medals in Olympics.
However Victor Conte doesn’t know about all nuances connected with getting and application of steroids by these all sportsmen who took part in the Sydney Olympics, he is sure that performance-enhancing drugs played their role at the women’s 100 meter final of the 2003 Championship in France. Conte sold steroids to five of the finalists.
Kelly White, the winner, bought the banned products from Conte too. After she had tested positive for Modafinil, she lost her gold medals. Later Kelly White said that she had utilized tetrahydrogestrinone and the blood booster EPO.
Conte wasn’t surprised about the progress of anti-doping activities connected with steroids in sport.
