Melendez, an inmate, sold steroids in the prison where he was serving his sentence

Ismael Melendez was sentenced to 9 years in prison for weapons’ charge in 2005. He was an inmate there. Recently This man was accused in selling anabolic steroids. Melendez promoted sales of prohibited medications inside and even outside the prison in New York. This person faces charges of prison contraband, illegal possession of controlled substances and criminal possession of syringes.
It was found out that Richard Finley, Melendez’ substance abuse counselor, had been involved in the criminal activity of Melendez. This person served more than 10 years for the Cape Vincent prison. The substance abuse canselor helped him to distribute anabolic steroids outside the prison. The crime led to his arrest in November 2011. It happened when Finley had caught during selling anabolic steroids to a man in a certain car lot.
Melendez sent Finley to deliver certainillegal preparations to a customer. The purchase was made in a certain shopping centre.
Undoubtedly, a question appears: Why did Finley begin to sell forbidden preparations?
Finley said why he helped Melendez . Melendez promised to give him HGH and 1500 dollars. It would have been given as exchange for the help in smuggling alcohol, anabolic steroids and creatine inside the prison. But the substance abuse counselor was caught by the police and accused in possession of banned medications and a hypodermic instrument.
Finley made also another great mistake. He brought his small child of 7 years old, when he was involved in the crime. That’s why Finley was also accused in endangering the welfare of a child.
This led to a suspension of Finley from his work without any pay. Thus, this person lost the well-paying work. As it is known, Finley received about 52, 000 dollars per year.
The inmate Melendez was transferred to another prison. This prisoner continues to serve his sentence.
