Justin Gatlin is an American sprinter. This sportsman tested positive for prohibited medicines in 2006 and served a 4-year ban. It was determined that he had used testosterone. Since his 4-year ban is over, Justin Gatlin was waiting to be accepted back. But it seems that this sportsperson doesn’t know the laws linked with the return to the world of sports. A sportsperson that has served a certain ban caused by intake of performance-enhancing products doesn’t return automatically. He\She should admit publicly that it was a great mistake; he\she has to apologize “with tears in his\her eyes” that he\she has used performance-enhancing products.
But this American sportsperson wants to do things his way. The American sportsperson said that he had never used banned medications intentionally. Justin Gatlin claimed that he had tested positive for steroids because a vindictive masseuse had used a testosterone cream during a massage. In fact this excuse was taken from a Lance Armstrong’s book. Justin Gatlin has not changed the Laurence’s explanation at all in more than 5 years.
Since this American sprinter didn’t admit using steroids publicly, sports writers interviewed him many times. The American sprinter was asked whether he would admit taking forbidden products. Once it has become clear that the American sprinter had used prohibited preparations knowingly. It was during an interview made by a New York Times reporter. Justin Gatlin proclaimed that he would admit administrating anabolic steroids intentionally in exchange for a hug! Can you imagine it? The New York Times reporter told the sprinter that people would hug him more, if he admits. Nevertheless, Gatlin remained “invincible”, asking: “If I say it right now, are you gonna give me a hug?”
Since this American sportsperson has already the support of the USA Track and Field (USATF), it is beleived that he will never admit applying forbidden preparations. It is unclear why he has got the support because Jill Greer, the spokesperson for the USATF, notes that USATF doesn’t support athletes that have ever taken steroids knowingly. Such athletes must be ignored, according to USATF. The case related to Justin Gatlin shows that the affirmation of the spokesperson is not respected at all.
