Connection between destruction of brain cells and steroids

It is well-known that steroids are applied by several sportsmen in order to ptomote muscle size and energy. But according to late studies, utilizing of steroids is a very negative factor for brain cells. Since these medications enhance level of testosterone in body, they influence negatively and even kill brain cells. This confirmation about destruction of brain cells by enhanced amount of testosterone was proven by a study conducted by Yale School of Medicine that was published in the Journal of Biological Chemistry.
Scientists suggest that enhanced aggressiveness displayed by steroids consumers show that certain amount of nerve cells was disturbed due to utilizing of steroids.
Barbara Ehrlich, a professor, a leader of a study related to steroids use, advices not to condemn those who take steroids, if they behave unproperly. You must understand that it must have been not their fault. Steroids must have had fault of aggressive manners of those who apply these products.
The study leaded by Yale School of Medicine approved that testosterone destructed nerve cells. One of principal functions of testosterone produced naturally is following: to kill nerve cells which may be dangerous for the whole body due to their destructions. But when level of testosterone is enhanced, it kills not only destructed cells but healthy ones too. It may cause such serious troubles, as appearing of Alzheimer's and Huntingdon's disease and others.

Aggressiveness of hamsters due to steroids
Hamsters were enrolled in one of researches published in the journal Behavioral Neuroscience. The specialists participated in the study observed influence of anabolic steroids upon the hamsters. The hamsters that were given these medications became too aggressive. Their brain activity was modified much due to these preparations.
The researches made a conclusion that steroids affected people’s brain the same way as hamsters’ brain. According to their conclusions, people suggest that steroids are forbidden due to their athletic effects. But they must realize that the chief reason is negative influence of these medicines upon human health. Steroids have to be used only for treatment of diseases by prescriptions of specialists. Administration of steroids in sports has to be banned totally.
